Raqiyah Mays is a radio personality, author, journalist, and activist with over 20 years of experience in the entertainment industry. Mays work in journalism extends back to when Quincy Jones owned Vibe Magazine. Mays’ bylines graced cover stories for publications like XXL, The Source, and Billboard. A writer by nature, her debut fiction novel, The Man Curse was released on November 16, 2015. From marching in Ferguson, MO to Baltimore and attending protests in NYC, Raqiyah’s activism spans from events to social media with regular updates on nation-wide cases of injustice on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

We’ll be streaming this Media Talks event via FACEBOOK LIVE on the Brooklyn Free Speech Facebook Page (@BFreeBK).

We’ll start the live stream at 5:55PM w/ the event starting shortly thereafter. Please arrive to The Media Center (Television Studio A) at BRIC Arts | Media House (647 Fulton Street, Brooklyn, New York 11217) by 5:30pm, latest.
Light refreshments will be served.
